BidPlus Program Problem Report - Last Updated...11/19/08

We provide this report as a service to let you know what problems in the program that we are aware of. There is no need to report any problems that are already on this list. They will be addressed as time and logistics permit. Several items already have a solution that we have provided for you here.

Millennium upgrade to version 9.0.0.0 Service Pack 6 was posted on 9/22/07. Please be sure that you have updated to the latest version before reporting any problems.

The update can be accomplished by going to the download page on our web site and downloading and overwriting your current version. The download page is found at http://www.bidplus.com/download.htm. You can also click on the Options menu, and then choose Updage BidPlus Millennium. Once on the page is displayed, click on the link at the bottom of that page.

Sun JRE News

The Sun JRE is only required of those folks that will be accessing Unimatic or Apollo without using one of the third party software, such as BidPlus. Once you have the JRE downloaded, you can go to http://airline.compuserve.com/ual/launch_mb2.asp and access Unimatic through IE without having to open the AOL software at all. Or, if you will be using the AOL software, then you still need to download the JRE. But if you are using BidPlus, the JRE is not required. And if you do download it, it has no effect on the performance of the BidPlus connection, positive or negative. That's because the way that that particular URL connects is different then the way that the third party software are required to connect .

The following items are discussed below:

Vista - Unable To Create Encryption Key
AOL/Unimatic Sign-on Takes You To AOL Page
Internet Explorer Script Error
Unable To Create Terminal Window
Connection Problems

New Vacation Rules
Trouble Downloading A Service Pack?
Server Date Error 080389
Apollo Plus Listing Trouble On Certain Segments
Unexpected file Format
Unable to Create AMm_Client
Windows XP File Download Problem
BLDNOT Problem Notification

1) Vista Operating System Error - If you are Vista user and you are receiving an error that reads " Unable to create Encryption Key", please do the following:

From the desktop, right-click the BP2K icon and select Properties. Select the "Compatibility" tab, and at the bottom you'll see a setting for "Privilege Level". Check "Run As Administrator" then click "Apply" and "OK". That's it.

2) AOL Connection - If your attempt to access Unimatic/Upload your bids is getting hijacked to the AOL home page, please read the following:

AOL Connection – Whatever tweaking that AOL did to cause this problem, the result is that it is having an affect on IE6, depending on the version of IE6 that you have installed. The short fix is to upgrade to IE7. IE7 users are reporting that once the program stops on the AOL screen name screen, just clicking the Login button will allow the script to continue. For those that insist on sticking with IE6, for some of you, when you arrive at the AOL screen name screen and you click the Login button, you are taken to an AOL web page. At that point, users are reporting that if they click the Terminal button again, they are able to get things going. But as you can see, there are different behaviors depending on the version of the IE Browser that you are using. These different behaviors apply to both BidPlus and non-BidPlus users. And because of the inconsistent behaviors, it is difficult to design a fix because the fix needs to be based on something stable on AOL’s end.

2) Internet Explorer Script Error - If you are receiving an error that reads " Internet Explorer Script error, an error has occurred in the script of this page, Line169
URl: https://myscreenname.aol.com/_crq/logon/logon.psp?", then you need to ensure that you have downloaded Internet Explorer Service Pack 2.

To download IE Service Pack 2, please click here.

This is for Internet Explorer Script Errors. To check and see which Service Pack that you have installed, open your Internet Explorer. Then click on the Help menu, and then click About Internet Explorer. You will see your currently installed version there. (top)

3) "Unable To Create Terminal Window" Error Message - There is some older technology, called JVM (Java Virtual Machine....which is different then JRE, Java Runtime Environment, which is required to access Unimatic through the AOL software. The JVM must be installed in order for you to access the Terminal functions through BidPlus.

To install (Service Pack 19 and up), first click on the Terminal button at the top right. Then click on the Options menu, and then choose Install JVM. (top)

7) Server Date Error 080389. For details, click here. (top)

8) Apollo Plus Listing Trouble On Certain Segments - We have received a few reports pointing out that you are not able to list F/C on certain segments (for example: LAX/JFK on some days).

It was recently pointed out to us (by one of our great users!) that on certain segments, you must enter a 'P' (Premium) instead of 'F'. The software is currently programmed to enter F, C, or Y as appropriate. To add this additional desinator would require some programming and a new Service Pack, so it's hard to say how soon that might be.

In order to use Apollo Plus to list for that flight, you will have to use the next cabin designator down (either C or Y). If you want to list for F/C on that flight, then you will need to call reservations. We apologize for any inconvenience.(top)

9) Unexpected File Format - he problem has to do with your communications document. Addressing the problem is easy to do. For details, please click here.    (top)

10) Unable To Create AMm_Client - If you are receiving the error message "Unable to create AMm_Client", please click here.   (top)

11) Win XP File Download Problem - There are reports from some XP users about the inability to download any of the Service Pack updates, or their bid packages. The general error message that is displayed says: "Unable to perform connectivity check". The problem appears to be specific to Hewlett Packard computers.

We have traced the problem to a piece of software that comes shipped with the computer. It's called ZERO FREEDOM. It is in a folder called ZERO KNOWLEDGE on the C:\ drive.

The problem can been addressed by removing this software through the Add/Remove Programs.   (top)

12) BLDNOT 24 Enote Send Max - The BLDNOT feature will currently only allow you to send up to 24 e-notes at a time from the address book in Unimatic Plus. (top)
