Bidplus Overview

BidPlus Millennium is a robust, multi-featured home access software suite. It contains automated Unimatic and Apollo access and processing features, Internet access via our built in Millennium Browser, and of course the world's most powerful and patented bidding program. It also includes a ton of online and offline help. The Bidding and Unimatic Plus features are primarily targeted towards UAL Flight Attendants, but the remaining features can be well utilized by all employees and retirees of United Airlines. Please click on the following red links for details. The index on your left will change to provide you access to that topic.

An AOL membership is required by UAL in order to access either Unimatic or Apollo from your home computer.

Unimatic - This feature provides you with automated, one click access to Unimatic. When you click the Unimatic button in the Button Bar at the top of the Terminal screen, the program will automatically sign-on to AOL, then sign-on to Unimatic and stop on the front page news screen. From this point, you will accomplish all of your work manually.

Unimatic Plus - This feature provides you with a way to prepare an unlimited number of Unimatic "jobs" (such as DISPIN, Trip Trades, OPNTRP, etc.) before you log on to AOL/Unimatic. The feature will, for example, submit all of your trip trades for you, send/retrieve all of your e-notes, pull up your Line Of Flying, etc., all at one time, and all automatically. The results are saved for you to review.

Apollo - This feature provides you with automated, one click access to Apollo. When you click the Apollo button in the Button Bar at the top of the Terminal screen, the program will automatically sign-on to AOL, then sign-on to Apollo and stop on the first screen. From this point, you will accomplish all of your work manually.

Apollo Plus - This feature allows you to automatically retrieve schedules and loads, select your desired flights, design an itinerary, and list yourself, family members, and companions, all without the need to know any Apollo codes what so ever. It is much, much faster then calling reservations or doing the work manually.

Millennium Browser - This is what you see when you first open the BidPlus software. This is the Internet mode. This full featured browser provides you with instant, one step access to the Internet. You are able to access any web site you like, as well as download programs, files, music, video,...basically whatever the Internet has to offer. Just type in the desired web address in the address line at the top, and then hit Enter.

BidPlus Bidding - The bidding program resides at the heart of the BidPlus Millennium suite. Flight Attendants are able to easily download any bid package from any domicile, and then apply an amazing array of criteria to search for the most desireable LOFs. The results of your search are found and displayed to you in approximately one second. You can also enjoy numerous other features including vacation bidding, position bidding, language, reserve, as well as bid by any combition of criteria you can think of. Your finished bids can then be automatically submitted to your LOFBID once you have finished. And of course, manual review, bidding, and printing can be applied and enjoyed at any time.

Help Features - We have gone to great lengths to design a vast amount of highly organized, easily accessible, and easy to understand help. We have made it a point not to "talk over your head". We have even provided help to help you understand the help!

The BidPlus Bidding Tutorial provides you with a hands on opportunity to experience the power of the bidding program for yourself. There is also a sample bid package included. This allows you to print the tutorial out and have it on your desk next to your computer, while you have the sample bid package displayed on the screen at the same time. The tutorial will then walk you through an entire bid session from beginning to end. This can be accomplished before the program is activated, allowing you the opportunity to "test drive" the program before committing to a membership. The Tutorial is accessed by clicking on the Help menu at the top, and then by choosing the Bidding Tutorial menu item. The Sample bid package is accessed by clicking on the BidPlus button at the top, then choosing to open an existing bid package, then double clicking on the file Sample.bbd.

The Knowledge Base (which you are reading now - just click on the index table on the left), provides you with pages and pages of basic, organized, easily understood, step by step details of your tasks, as well as an over abundance of  graphics to keep your learning as visual as possible. Since the Knowledge Base is online, we are able to constantly update it with new information, so the answer you seek is always available and current. The Knowledge Base is accessed by clicking on the Help menu at the top, and then by choosing Knowledge Base.

The Computer Education section is designed to provide you with some basic computer understanding, as well as a glossary to explain all of the terms that we use so everybody is able to understand and enjoy all aspects of this very valuable program without the fear of being left behind! It is accessed by using the menu index on the left side of this screen. It also provides links to other computer education sites, as well as additional information on how to easily and conveniently further your computer education.
