Relief Bidding

This section addresses adding Relief to your Primary bids.

***If you are concerned about bidding during the Relief period, that is accomplished exactly the same way as your Primary bids. Please review the Bid Package section, as well as the Selecting Criteria section.

Please be sure that you are familiar with the Selecting Criteria section, and the Bank Overview section before reviewing the Relief Bidding section.

Relief bidding is accomplished from the Review and Edit screen of any Bank. To begin, you need to indicate the target where in your bid you would like your RLF line(s) to be placed. As described in the edit Cut and Paste section, you indicate the target by highlighting a Line number in the Bank. To highlight a Line number, simply click on it.

Your RLF indicator, or the RLF lines themselves will be placed immediately in front of that highlighted Line number, if that is your choice. This will be further explained in just a moment.

Next, click on the RLF button in the button bar.

(The 1-2 button located to the right of the RLF button is called the Insert Line function. The RLF function and the Insert Line function are exactly the same function. The Insert Line function is provided so that this feature is easier to identify and locate. It is for Inserting a line, or a group of lines, at certain point in the Bank. This is how Block bidding is accomplished with BidPlus.)

You are then presented with the Insert Bid dialog box. Inserting Relief Lines is what we will be accomplishing.

Notice at the top of the box you are provided with two fields with which to enter information. In this first example, we will simply type in the word 'RLF' in the first field. We will leave the second field empty.

Now notice that we have 3 choices of where to place the Relief Lines. We can either place them at the cursor location, which is basically the highlighted line number that we described earlier, or we can append them to the end of this bank in the last position, or we can append them to the end of the entire bid, even if we are not currently working in the last Bank of the bid.

We have chosen to place the 'RLF' indicator at the cursor location (in front of Line # 867). Now click 'Insert'.

The 'RLF' indicator has now been pasted in front of Line # 867. This means that you will be bidding the first 9 lines in this Bank. Then you will bid all of the RLF lines available. Then you will continue bidding with Line # 867.

Notice how when the 'RLF' indicator is highlighted, that there is no LOF information displayed in the window as normal. This is because the RLF lines do not contain any information. So there is nothing to display. Please do not be alarmed when you see this condition.

What happens if you do not want to bid all of the available RLF lines, but instead would rather bid only a few of them, and then return to bidding the regular lines? No problem! Instead of entering 'RLF' in the first field as described above, you can enter the first RLF line number in the first field, then tab and enter the upper range of RLF line numbers that you would like to bid in the second field.

Now when you click on the 'Insert' button, the range of RLF lines (1601-1615) will be pasted in exactly where you have indicated. In this example, we will paste them in front of Line # 867.

That's it!
