Position Bidding Overview
BidPlus provides you with the ability to automatically
Position Bid the Lines you have selected, whether Searched or
Selected Manually, in all of your Banks simultaneously, regardless
of how many Banks and Lines there may be.
Position Bidding can only be accomplished from the Review
and Edit screen of any Bank. To begin, click on the F/Y Position Bid
button in the button bar.
You are then presented with the Position Bid dialog
box.
Notice in the middle of the box are 3 choices that allow
you to apply your position bidding to either the selected Line in
the Bank you are in, or to the end of the Bank you are in, or to the
end of the entire bid, regardless of how many Banks there might
be.
For our example, we will keep things simple. We will use
a Bank that only contains 5 Lines.
Line #[1001] is a 1 position line, [801] is a 3 position
with no 757s, [70] is a 3 position line with 757s, [215] is a 7
position line, and [305] is a 10 position line.
To enter the positions in the Position Dialog Box, click
on the 1st of the 8 available boxes and display the position
choices.
The '#' sign means a line number with no position
applied. That is why the '#' sign is in the first box when you first
open the Position Bid dialog box. For this example, we will enter
'F' in the first box. To enter the positions quicker, use the tab
key. Now tab from box to box and simply type in the desired
position.
Notice that we have chosen to select the second choice to
"Apply to current active Bank only". We have also chosen to Group by
Line Number. Now click OK.
As you can see here, the
positions have been applied appropriately. - Line [1001] has no
position applied as it is an XSC line. - Line [801] has F &
Y applied as a 3 position line with no 757s. - Line [70] has F,
V, & Y applied as a 3 position line with 757s. - Line [215]
has F, B, C, D, E, V, & Y applied as a 7 position line. - Line [305] has F, B, C, D, E, V, & Y
applied as a 10 position line.
Now let's make a change. Instead of grouping by Line
Number, let's group by Position.
Now click OK.
Notice how all of the Line Numbers with the same
positions are now grouped together.
The last item in the Position Bid lesson is the Override
automatic position check. The purpose of this check box is for those
domiciles that have positions applied outside of the normal scheme
of things. Occasionally a domicile, such as HNL, will have a 4
position line that is to be bid with all premium positions. But the
normal position accuracy check in the feature will not allow it.
However, by checking this box, you are able to work outside of the
normal rules and apply the F, B, C, & D positions (or whatever)
to any line.
