Merging Banks Together

BidPlus provides you with the ability to Merge, or combine, 2 or more Banks together. This may be helpful in situations where you might want to apply some positions bidding, or perhaps simply for the convenience of having all of your Lines in one Bank. Be sure to review the other editing topics covering instructions on Cut and Paste and Drag and Drop .

To better understand this topic, please review the Bank Overview for instructions on how to create a Bank. It is also recommended that you Save your work prior to beginning this operation, just in case things do not work out as expected. That way you will be able to return the bid package to its prior state.

In this example, we will begin with 16 Banks already created.

Next, we need to indicate which Banks are to be merged together. To accomplish this, first hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard. And while continuing to hold it down, click on the Banks that you would like to merge together.

Now click on the "Merge Banks" button in the button bar.

This action will cause all of the "marked" Banks to be combined into one.

The resulting combined Bank will be numbered the same as the lowest number Bank that was included in the operation. (Bank 1 in this case) Notice that there are now several Bank numbers missing. Also notice that the number of Lines in Bank 1 is now the sum of all of the Lines that were included in the operation (59). All of the Lines in the resulting Bank will remain in their same relative order, but may have moved ahead of the Lines in other Banks that were not included in the operation.

As this move cannot be reversed, it is suggested that you not Save this move until you are sure it is what you want. If it does not turn out quite like you want, you can simply close the bid package. Once it is re-opened, it will return to the state it was in when it was last saved. Hopefully you saved it before beginning this operation.

It is also recommended that you accomplish this move prior to any Position Bidding or additional editing.
