The Screen Has Locked Up

Occasionally, your system is going to lock up, or at least appear to lock up. Since you are working from home, but connected to other systems, your computer has no idea where the edge of your screen is. In theory, it goes forever in any direction, and the cursor ends up going "out of bounds" and is lost and locks up. It will happen whether or not you are using BidPlus.

If you are presented with this problem, try this first. Try clicking the "Sign-off" button at the top.

If nothing happens, wait a couple seconds and try it again. The "Sign-off" button is designed to break the connection if there is no scripting response the first time you click.

If you are still stuck online, then try attempting the following sequence:

1. Try entering the sequence "Esc, Esc, R" to reset your keyboard.
2. Try entering the sequence "Esc, Esc, * " to end your Unimatic or Apollo session.
3. Try pulling the phone line out of your computer (or the wall if that’s easier) and waiting about 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in. This will force a lost connection to your modem and cause it to hang up.
4. Try entering Ctrl+Alt+Del to bail out of the program.
5. When all else fails, finally shut off your computer and wait about a minute to restart it. Also, you might want to try going into Apollo through SkyNet to see if it is having the same problems. That will let you know if it is the network, or it is your program that is having the problem.
