THE CAUSE

operated by United Airlines Flight Attendants to assist in the
financial needs of other United Flight Attendants and their families
who are critically/terminally ill or injured.

of the
Need
THE CAUSE
FOUNDATION has been established with the approval of
United Airlines and the Association of Flight Attendants, due to the
increasing awareness of the needs of fellow flying partners who are
in financial distress because of their own or a family member's
critical/terminal illness or injury.
THE CAUSE
FOUNDATION is primarily funded through voluntary
payroll deductions. When flight attendants contribute
bi-monthly, the contribution will fund the flight
attendant home domicile account, ensuring the monies
collected will stay to assist flight attendants locally.
Additionally fund raising efforts will augment the
domicile accounts. Each domicile has a CAUSE
committee who will be responsible for identifying flight attendants
in need of funds. Grants are administered by application to the
domicile committee and the amount distributed in each case is based
upon individual needs, the cost of medication, eligibility for
income protection insurances, state contributions, etc. Recipients
of the funds will remain confidential.
Contributions
A system wide CAUSE campaign for payroll deduction is be held
yearly. However, flight attendants may enroll for
payroll deduction at any time by contacting a CAUSE committee member and
filling out the appropriate form. Deductions will be
taken out of each paycheck. If you would like to learn
more about The CAUSE
Foundation, or would like to donate your
time/skills, please contact your local CAUSE representative or send company mail to The CAUSE Foundation DENSW. Any
questions or comments may also by sent through E-mail to Monica
Wheat, DENSW.
